Edwin-first resources offer engaging new content, interactives, videos, and a new instructional approach, all targeted at the destreamed student.
This fall, we offer only one Grade 9 Science course in Edwin that is a curated selection of curriculum-aligned Learning Objects combined with new destreamed resources that will be released during the fall through to spring.
Edwin’s new Learning Objects for this course will support:
1. 100% Curriculum Coverage.
2. Strand A. Focuses on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) skills, coding and emerging technologies, practical applications of science and technology, and career and trade connections.
3. STEM Investigation Skills. allow students to apply scientific processes and an engineering design process in their investigations to develop a conceptual understanding of the science they are learning, and apply coding skills to model scientific concepts and relationships.
4. Indigenous Knowledge Systems, Ways of Knowing and Perspectives to be woven through all strands.
5. CRRP (Culturally Relevant & Responsive Pedagogy), and Inclusive Education is woven throughout, requiring a focus on varied cultural knowledge and perspectives, putting the student and the knowledge they bring to the classroom at the centre of their learning, and enabling all students to demonstrate their understanding through ways that are meaningful to them.
6. Emerging Technologies and Careers. Attention to new and predicted technologies woven through all strands to support STEM, as well as connections to everyday life and related career options.
