Supporting the MTH1W (2021) Curriculum

CRRP

Culturally Responsive and Relevant Pedagogy (CRRP)

In Mathematics 9 (MTH1W), every learning module is being reviewed by a team of diverse Ontario educators to ensure that your classroom plays its part in building an inclusive education system. Our panel of diverse reviewers takes into consideration that the content is relevant, responsive and respectful to students' cultures and learning preferences.

UDL

Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

Designed first and foremost to help deliver classroom equity, Edwin is the perfect toolkit to support the Universal Design for Learning (UDL).  Text, video and audio (text-to-speech) is available for all curriculum areas, and students are offered choice in how they express their learning.

Modelling

Mathematical Modelling

Mathematical Modelling is an iterative and interconnected process. Messy problems are central to Mathematics 9 (MTH1W) and encourage students to think outside the box and use mathematical modelling to represent, analyse, make predictions and provide insight into real-life situations.

Coding

Coding

In Mathematics 9 (MTH1W), students will have the opportunity to use coding to bring mathematical concepts to life. These experiences include the use of Python and block-level coding like Scratch.io.
