Spotlight: Remembrance Day
Every November 11, on the 11th hour, Canadians observe Remembrance Day. On this day, we honour all those who have served in Canada’s armed forces, from World War I up to today. Use the collections below to explore some Edwin materials that can support Remembrance Day.
Use this collection to help students gain a better understanding and appreciation of the meaning of Remembrance Day. Students will read a few texts connected to conflict and respond to those texts. They will then plan and conduct a ceremony for Remembrance Day. Students will have opportunities to speak, listen, read, write, view, and create media texts, think creatively and critically, and problem solve.
